Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, and even Ariana Grande all slink into their roles with confidence. Yeah, Don’t Look Up may be drenched in didacticism as Leo tries to save humanity, and reiterate some of McKay’s worst tendencies, but it’s now one of the more unique and entertaining of the latest Netflix movies to come out over the past couple of years. It may not be a career-best performance from Leonardo DiCaprio, but Don’t Look Up has the legendary actor in top form as he helps writer-director Adam McKay finger-wag at society for peeling their attention away from the looming climate crisis.
